Czech First League side, Viktoria Plzeň have announced the signing of 23-year old striker, Fortune Bassey, on a season-long loan from Ferencvarosi TC in the Hungarian 1st Division.
"Our goal was to expand our squad and strengthen in all ranks before a very demanding autumn on the domestic and European scene. I am glad that it was possible to complete the arrival of such a quality player in the offensive line," commented Adolf Šádek, the club's general manager.
Speaking in his first interview with the club, Bassey said "I know Viktoria very well, it's a big club with big ambitions. When this opportunity presented itself, I did not hesitate. It is a huge challenge for me, we have big games in Europe and in the league and I will do everything to be an asset to the team."
With Bassey already playing 3 matches for Ferencváros in the Champions League preliminary rounds, he is unable to make his debut for Viktoria in the two-legged play-off against Karabakh on August 17th. However, he will be fully available for the group stage of the Champions League or the Europa League.
