Nigeria suffer defeat to Morocco in Group B U17 AFCON clash

- In a highly anticipated clash at the 2023 Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Algeria, Nigeria's Golden Eaglets fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Atlas Cubs of Morocco in their second Group B match.
The game was played at the Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui in Constantine, with both teams looking to secure their place in the tournament's knockout stages.
The game started dramatically as Morocco took the lead two minutes into the match. Nigeria's defender Tochukwu Ogbodi deflected an Abdel Hamid Maâli effort into his own goal to give the Atlas Cubs an early advantage.

With the win, Morocco secured their place in the quarterfinals of the competition with six points from two games, while Nigeria stay second in Group B with three points. The Golden Eaglets must beat South Africa in their final group game to secure their passage to the knockout rounds.
Overall, it was a frustrating day for Nigeria's U17 team, who dominated the match but failed to convert their chances.
