  • Nigeria's best male and female footballers across the 2023-24 season have been unveiled on the final day of the EaglesTracker Awards.

After a keenly contested nomination process, Ademola Lookman emerged as the Men's Most Valuable Player of the Season while Rasheedat Ajibade picked up the award in the women's category.

Ademola Lookman overcame stiff competition from Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface and Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu to be crowned Nigeria's football king.

In the end, scoring a hat trick in the final of the Europa League to give Atalanta their first-ever continental trophy and inspiring the club to qualify for the Champions League next season was too much for any competitor to outshine.

Lookman was also the winner of Atalanta's Player of the Season award, which he now adds to the Fans' Player of the Season award he earned on the second day of the ETAwards.

Rasheedat Ajibade enjoyed a fantastic campaign, scoring ten goals and adding eight assists to lead Atletico de Madrid Femenino to qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League. For her exploits, the Super Falcons captain was named the club's Player of the Season.

On the home front, Chiamaka Nnadozie and Christy Ucheibe gave Ajibade a run for her money but in the end, she deservedly secured the accolade as Nigeria's Best Female Player.
