The club football season has come to end and Nigerian footballers across the world had their defining moments.
The annual EaglesTracker award has a category for the Best XI of the season.
Goalkeeper - Chiamaka Nnadozie (Paris FC)
The 22-year-old made a huge impression in the D1 Arkema last season. Her impressive outings earned her multiple award nominations in France. She however had nine cleansheets in 25 games.
Right-back - Victor Moses (Spartak Moscow)
Moses was instrumental in the Russian giants' wonderful campaign. He helped the Moscow based side end their 19 years wait for a domestic cup. The 31-year-old had 3 assists and scored 3 times from the right side of the defence.
Left-back - Zaidu Sanusi (FC Porto)
Sanusi played an integral role for Porto in the just concluded campaign. He was ever present as the Oporto based club secured a domestic double (League and Cup titles).
Right Centre Back - Olisa Ndah (Orlando Pirates)
The Nigerian international had a season to remember in the colors of Orlando Pirates. Olisa was crucial for Orlando Pirates in his first season at the club, earning a Super Eagles debut along the way and reaching the final of the CAF Confederations Cup.
Left Centre Back - Calvin Bassey (Glasgow Rangers)
The Super Eagles newbie had a stellar
season with the Gers. This season was his best ever as he burst onto the scene and captured the hearts of Nigerian fans around the world.
Central Midfielder - Joe Aribo (Glasgow Rangers)
Joe Aribo had an impressive season where he showed his versatility and strength. In the just concluded season, he played 70 matches for both club and country.
Central Midfielder - Raphael Onyedika (FC Midjtylland)
Raphael put in a great shift for the Danish Cup champions. He anchored things for Midjtylland from the middle of the park and showed that he is a worthy replacement for Frank Onyeka.
Right Winger - Asisat Oshoala (FC Barcelona Femeni)
Despite having an injury laden season, the Lagos born forward showed that she's a force to reckon with as she scored 22 goals and created six for FC Barcelona.
Left Winger - Anthony Nwakaeme (FC Trabzonspor )
Anthony Nwakaeme was instrumental for Trabzonspor as they ended the monopoly of the Istanbul clubs. He ended the season with 13 goals and 10 assists.
Centre Forward - Sadiq Umar (UD Almeria)
Sadiq was a standout performer in the La Liga Smartbank last term. He finished the season with double digits in goals and assists.
His 19 goals and 12 assists spurred Almeria to the league title.
Centre Forward - Taiwo Awoniyi (FC Union Berlin)
Taiwo Awoniyi made history with Union Berlin in 2021/2022, becoming the club’s record goalscorer in the Bundesliga and leading them to a UEFA Europa League spot for next season.
