  • The match, scheduled for Saturday, is part of the Falcons' preparations for the 2025 Women Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Nigeria's national women's football team, the Super Falcons, are set to face off against France in a high-profile friendly match on Saturday, and coach Justin Madugu has announced a 20-woman squad for the encounter.

The match, which will be played at the Stade Raymond Kopa in Angers, France, is part of the Falcons' preparations for the 2025 Women Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The squad, which includes several overseas-based players, is a mix of experience and youth. CAF Awards nominee Chiamaka Nnadozie is a notable inclusion, although the team's captain Rasheedat Ajibade, will miss the match due to injury.

Other notable players in the squad include defenders Osinachi Ohale and Ashleigh Plumptre, midfielders Jennifer Echegini and Toni Payne, and forwards Gift Monday and Ifeoma Onumonu.

Madugu's squad selection suggests that he is looking to blend experience with youth, as he seeks to build a strong team for the 2025 Women Africa Cup of Nations.

The Falcons have been drawn in Group B of the tournament, alongside Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana, and will be looking to use the friendly match against France as a test of their readiness.

The match against France will be a tough test for the Falcons, as the French team is one of the top-ranked teams in the world.

However, Madugu will be looking to use the match as an opportunity to assess his team's strengths and weaknesses, and to make any necessary adjustments before the 2025 Women Africa Cup of Nations.
