Abdulrahman Taiwo joins Riga FC

  • Latvian top-flight club, Riga FC have officially announced the signing of 24-year-old Nigerian striker Abdulrahman Taiwo.

Born on August 5, 1998, in Nigeria, Taiwo primarily operates in the forward position and began his career with the U21 team of the Turkish club Bursaspor.

Subsequently, Abdulrahman showcased his skills in various Slovakian top-tier clubs such as Nitra, Dunajska Streda, and Zemplin Michalovce, as well as the Czech Fortuna Liga side Karvina over several seasons.

In 2021, Taiwo secured a contract with Danish Super League club SönderjyskE, but during the just-concluded campaign, he went on loan to one of Slovakia's strongest teams, Spartak Trnava.

Notably, Taiwo impressed with 14 goals in 21 games in Slovakia's elite division. In total, the exciting forward amassed 27 appearances for Spartak Trnava, netting 19 goals and providing three assists.

Additionally, Taiwo has represented Nigeria's U23 national team, featuring in a single match.
