- The UEFA Women's Champions League group stage draw has thrown up intense clashes as Super Falcons stars, Asisat Oshoala, Christy Ucheibe, and Halimatu Ayinde find themselves in the same Group.
Asisat Oshoala's Barcelona Femeni, Christy Ucheibe's SL Benfica, and Halimatu Ayinde's FC Rosengard will battle it out, with defending champions, Barcelona, aiming to defend their European crown after their triumph in the competition last season.
Oshoala contributed five goals in six starts for Barcelona during the 2022/2023 campaign.
This season, Barcelona's first encounter is against Ucheibe's Benfica on November 14.
Spanish champions, Barcelona Femeni will be favourites to shoot down the Portuguese giants, following their dominant performance in the [15-2] aggregate scoreline across two legs last year.
Oshoala's Barcelona will then face off against Ayinde's Rosengard in consecutive matches on December 13 and 20.
Adding to the mix, German side, Eintracht Frankfurt completed the line-up in Group A.
Meanwhile, Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie and her Paris FC teammates will gear up for a challenging Group D lineup, taking on tricky opponents like Chelsea, Real Madrid, and BK Hacken.
Nnadozie's notable penalty saves were instrumental in propelling underdogs, Paris FC, past English giants, Arsenal and last season's finalists, Wolfsburg, in the playoffs.
In Group C, Nicole Payne's Paris Saint-Germain has been drawn to face tough competition against Bayern Munich, AS Roma, and Ajax, following their elimination of Manchester United in the final playoff rounds.
The group fixtures are scheduled to take place from November 14 to January 13.
