AFCON 2021 SET TO TAKE PLACE IN JANUARY/FEBRUARY

Back to normal! The 2021 African Cup of Nations will take place in January/February 2021.

African football's governing body, CAF, have today announced that the 2021 edition of the African Cup of Nations, set to take place in Cameroon, will be held during the January/February window.

This signals a return to the previous tournament schedule, as opposed to the June/July window that was used for the Egypt 2019 tournament.

The tournament will once again fall during the middle of the club season, and African stars may miss up to 6 league games in 2021.

The decision was made due to the rainy season in Cameroon during the summer.
