ENGLAND

Semi Ajayi was rock-solid at the back for West Brom as the Baggies came from a goal down to register a [2-1] win over Norwich City in the Championship.

In the English Premier League, Frank Onyeka came off the bench to provide the assist for the winner as Brentford snatched a [2-1] home victory over Taiwo Awoniyi's Nottingham Forest. Emmanuel Dennis was an unused substitute in the match.

In the Women's Super League, Super Falcons center-back Ashleigh Plumptre scored with a fine header as Leicester City Women ran out [4-0] winners over Liverpool.

FRANCE

A disappointing day for Moses Simon saw the Super Eagles winger feature for only 45 minutes as Nantes crashed out of the Coupe de France with a scandalous [1-5] defeat against Toulouse at the Stade de France.

In Ligue 2, Josh Maja smashed home his fourth goal in as many games, as his 82nd-minute strike powered Girondins Bordeaux to an impressive [0-2] away victory at Valenciennes.

Maja now has 16 league goals to his credit, with the win establishing a healthy three-point gap between second-place Bordeaux and FC Metz in third place.

GERMANY

Kevin Akpoguma starred in a three-man central defensive setup for Hoffenheim, but Christopher Nkunku's 28th-minute strike was all RB Leipzig needed to claim a vital [1-0] home win in the Bundesliga.

POLAND

James Igbekeme was on target, wrapping up the scoring for Wisla Krakow in their [3-0] Polish I Liga victory over Chojniczanka Chojnice.

SAUDI ARABIA

Odion Ighalo could not add to his seven continental goals, as ten-man Al Hilal were held to a [1-1] home draw by Japanese giants Urawa Red Diamonds in the final of the AFC Champions League at the King Fahd International Stadium.

Salem Al Dawsari opened the scoring after 13 minutes, but Shinzo Koroki equalized for the visitors shortly after halftime.

Al Dawsari was then shown a red card with four minutes left to play as Al Hilal settled for a share of the spoils. The return leg is scheduled for next week.

TURKEY

Bright Osayi-Samuel delivered a fine performance to help ten-man Fenerbahce record a comfortable 3-1 win over Sivasspor.

Osayi-Samuel was booked on the hour mark, but it did not affect the win for the visitors who rose to within three points of Galatasaray with the victory.
