The stage is set for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with Nigeria's Super Eagles drawn in Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania. The draw ceremony took place on Monday evening in Rabat, Morocco, and has thrown up some intriguing matchups.
Nigeria, three-time winners of the tournament, will be looking to make a strong impression under new coach Eric Chelle. The French tactician will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Otto Glória and Clemens Westerhof, who both led the Super Eagles to AFCON glory.
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will kick off on December 21, 2025, and will run until January 18, 2026. Nigeria qualified for the tournament by finishing top of Group D in the qualifiers, earning 11 points from a possible 18.
The Super Eagles have a rich history in the AFCON, having featured 21 times and won the tournament on three occasions. Their last triumph came in 2013 under the late Stephen Keshi.
Group C promises to be a challenging one for Nigeria, with Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania all capable of causing an upset. However, with a strong squad and a new coach at the helm, the Super Eagles will be confident of making a deep run in the tournament.
