Stephen Odey identified as Taiwo Awoniyi's potential replacement at Union Berlin

German Bundesliga side, 1. FC Union Berlin have identified Stephen Odey, a Nigerian international, as a possible successor for Taiwo Awoniyi.

Awoniyi has been tipped to leave in the summer transfer window after having an excellent season which has seen him net eighteen goals in all competitions.

Anthony Ujah, another Nigerian international striker on Union Berlin's books, has two months left on his contract, and it seems doubtful that it will be renewed.

Union Berlin have already begun their search for Awoniyi's successor and have identified Odey as a possible transfer target. AllNigeriaSoccer reports.

The former NPFL youngster will however not go for a very cheap valuation, with Randers hoping to get 4.5 million euros for him (approximately N2b in Nigerian currency).

Odey has made 29 appearances in all competitions since joining Randers last summer, scoring 13 goals and providing two assists in that time.

The East Jutland club has a deal with the 24-year-old until June 30, 2024.

Would it be a good move for him ? Leave a comment below.
