English Premier League side, Southampton FC have completed the signing of Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu from Belgian first-division club, KRC Genk, subject to a medical and international clearance.
He has inked a three-and-a-half-year contract that is reportedly worth €18 million plus €3 million in add-ons.
The Nigeria international, with this move, ends his three-and-half-year association with Racing Genk, having joined the Smurfs from Danish side, FC Midtjylland in August 2019 for €6 million.
In his time in Belgium, Onuachu has smashed in 85 goals and added 10 assists in 134 matches across all competitions for Genk.
The 29-year-old was named the winner of the Golden Shoe award for best player in Belgium for 2021. Already this season, Onuachu has registered 16 goals in 19 games to fuel Genk's title push.
In Southampton, Onuachu will team up with Super Eagles teammate, Joe Aribo, who joined the Saints from Rangers in the summer.
It is not the best time to move to St. Mary's Stadium, though, with Southampton currently sat at the foot of the Premier League table.
