  • The Super Falcons, Nigeria's women's football team, have received a major boost ahead of their participation in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand with the unveiling of their new home and away kits.

The kit, designed by Nike, is inspired by Nigeria's distinct identity and diverse communities, with intricate details and unique colours and patterns.

The home kit is predominantly green with white and black trim, while the away kit is of a darker touch with green and black accents. Both kits feature the Nike swoosh and the Nigerian Football Federation crest.

The Super Falcons will be hoping that the new kit will inspire them to success at the World Cup, where they will be aiming to improve on their previous best performance of reaching the quarter-finals in 1999.

The Super Falcons are the most successful women's team in Africa, having won the Women's Africa Cup of Nations a record 11 times. They will compete in Group A at the World Cup alongside hosts Australia, Canada, and Northern Ireland.

The tournament, which Australia and New Zealand will co-host, kicks off on July 20, 2023.

The kit was unveiled by Rasheedat Ajibade on social media, and news of the new kits has been met with excitement and anticipation by Nigerian football fans, who eagerly look forward to seeing the Super Falcons in action at the World Cup. The Super Falcons have a proud history in African football and will hope to make a mark on the world stage with their new Nike kits.
