Chiamaka Nnadozie nominated for D1 Arkema goalkeeper of the year

Super Falcons and Paris FC goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie has received a nomination for the D1 Arkema Goalkeeper of the Year Award.

She was crucial on Paris' road to success in the French League this season, keeping 13 clean sheets from 19 games throughout the competition.

Paris FC have three games left to play in the top flight this season but have qualified for next season's UEFA Women's Champions League.

In an announcement from the National Union of Professional Football Players' official account on Twitter, Chiamaka has been nominated for the Best Goalkeeper of the Year Award.

The 21-year-old has been named on a prestigious shortlist for the honour, alongside the likes of Mylène Chavas (FC Girondins de Bordeaux), Christiane Endler (Olympique Lyonnais Féminin), Cosette Jolee Morché (GPSO 92 Issy) and Barbora Votíková (Paris Saint-Germain Féminine), who have also had very successful years for their respective clubs and countries.

In December 2021, the Nigerian international was named the seventh best goalkeeper in the world.

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics named Nnadozie among the finest goalkeepers in the world (IFFHS).

The rankings for women goalkeepers were compiled for the year 2021, taking into account their club and country performances.

She'll be hoping to help Nigeria retain her AWCON title when the tournament starts in July 2022.
