Taiwo Awoniyi makes Bundesliga history with Union Berlin

Taiwo Awoniyi scored his 13th goal in 27 games this season and was a continuous thorn in the Frankfurt defence's flesh. The goal makes him the first FC Union Berlin player ever to score 13 goals in the German Bundesliga.

After a fight with Frankfurt captain Hinteregger, Awoniyi outmuscled Ndicka and hammered home the game's first goal.

Grischa Promel scored the game's second goal just four minutes later, shocking the Frankfurt fans.

The second half failed to match the first, although Union maintained their lead and control of the game.

Awoniyi was replaced by Sven Michel in the 81st minute, after assisting his club with another three crucial points in their quest for Europe next season.

Union are now in sixth place in the Bundesliga, four points behind fifth-placed Freiburg.
