Francis Uzoho tenders apology to heartbroken Nigerians

After his error ensured Ghana got a result in Abuja, Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho characterized the preceding few days as the "worst of his life".

To the chagrin of supporters, Uzoho, who had made good stops in the first leg in Kumasi, was defeated in Abuja by a low drive by Thomas Partey.

Uzoho has been chastised for his gaffe, but the goalie, who has remained silent since his error about a week ago, has finally spoken up to apologize.

In a post on Instagram, Uzoho said; “This past couple of days have (sic) been the worst in my lifetime. I wanted to take my nation to Qatar but rather did the opposite.

“I know what football means to you all and to myself, I can’t promise not to make mistakes again but i can promise not to give up until i bring back that smile on your faces.

“Thank you for the support and God bless Nigeria. IN CHRIST ALONE.”

The Omonia Nicosia goalkeeper was in goal when Nigeria was knocked out of the World Cup in the group stages in 2018 and has had a hit-or-miss Super Eagles career since then.
