Ndidi nominated for EFL Championship Player of the Month award

  • After an excellent last few weeks, Wilfred Ndidi is in contention for the prestigious EFL Championship Player of the Month award for September.
  • Ndidi has been one of the Foxes' best players in the period under review as the club seeks to secure a swift return to the Premier League.

The Super Eagles midfielder was linked with a move away from Leicester City in the summer following the club's relegation last season.

However, the midfielder stayed back at the King Power Stadium and has defied the odds and emerged as one of the standout players for the Foxes, despite a slight alteration in his midfield role.

In September, Ndidi featured in four league games for Leicester City and scored in the [1-4] win at Southampton. The Fixes won three of those four matches.

Ndidi's excellent performances have seen him nominated alongside Leicester City teammate Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for the division's best player award.

The Nigeria international faces stiff competition for the Championship Player of the Month award from Jack Clarke of Sunderland, Liam Lindsay of Preston North End, Morgan Whittaker of Plymouth Argyle, and Nathan Broadhead of Ipswich Town.

Overall, Ndidi has played ten games in the Championship, registering a goal and two assists.
