  • Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina have avoided Premier League relegation with Nottingham Forest FC after they secured a 2-1 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor in their final match of the season.

Coach Nuno Espirito Santo decided to keep both Nigerian players on the bench at the start of the game.

Nottingham Forest were three points ahead of Luton Town before the match, with a significantly better goal difference. Luton would have needed a 12-goal swing and a Forest loss to send Forest down.

Chris Wood scored twice for Nottingham Forest, giving them a 2-0 lead at halftime. Josh Cullen scored for Burnley in the 72nd minute, creating a tense finish. However, Luton lost 4-2, ensuring Forest's safety.

The match ended 2-1 in favour of Nottingham Forest, confirming their place in the Premier League for next season. Awoniyi came on in the 79th minute but did not score, while Aina did not play.

Luton Town FC, Burnley FC, and Sheffield United FC have been relegated to the Championship.

In other news, Manchester City have been crowned Premier League champions after a 3-1 win against West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal and Manchester City both had a chance to win the title on the final day, with City two points ahead. Arsenal needed to beat Everton and hope for a City loss or draw.

Arsenal won 2-1 against Everton, with goals from Tomiyasu and Kai Havertz overcoming an early goal from Everton's Gana.

However, Manchester City secured the title with a 3-1 victory over West Ham. Phil Foden scored twice and Rodri added a third, while Mohammed Kudus scored for West Ham.

Pep Guardiola has become the first manager to win the Premier League title four times in a row.
