ENGLAND

Calvin Bassey made his Premier League debut as 10-man Fulham fell to a crushing [0-3] defeat at home against Brentford. Frank Onyeka was an unused substitute for the victors.

In the EFL Championship, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi both impressed in Leicester City’s last-gasp [2-1] victory over Jamilu Collins and Cardiff City.

Paul Mukairu made his League One debut for Reading in the Royals' decent [2 - 0] triumph over Stevenage.

FINLAND

In the Kansallinen Liiga, Roosa Funmilayo Ariyo bagged an excellent hat-trick in KuPS's convincing [7 - 0] drubbing of Ilves.

FRANCE

In-form Akor Adams scored for the second consecutive game as his 89th-minute strike rounded off the scoring for Montpellier in their massive [1-4] away win over Lyon.

Adams now boasts three Ligue 1 goals in only two matches to set the early pace in the division's top goalscorer's race.

GERMANY

On his Bundesliga debut, Victor Boniface assisted the opening goal for Bayer Leverkusen in their hard-fought [3-2] home victory against German Super Cup winners, RB Leipzig.

ITALY

Serie A's most valuable player, Victor Osimhen picked off from where he left off last season as he smashed in two goals to fire Napoli to a [1-3] away triumph over newly-promoted Frosinone.

Osimhen was the league's top scorer last term after netting 26 goals to propel Napoli to a first Scudetto win in 33 years.

PORTUGAL

Kelechi Nwakali assisted GD Chaves's first goal from a beautiful corner kick, but it did not halt the team from falling to a disappointing [2-4] loss at home to Sporting Braga.

Chidozie Awaziem was solid in defence, while Bruno Onyemaechi provided an assist to lift Boavista to a stunning [1-4] away victory at Portimonense.

SCOTLAND

Cyriel Dessers scored Rangers' equaliser from the penalty spot and then assisted the winner to propel the Gers to a come-from-behind [2-1] win in the Scottish League Cup victory.

Ayo Obileye contributed to Livingston's clean sheet, while former Flying Eagles midfielder Samson Lawal was a second-half substitute as their team advanced to the third round of the Scottish League Cup with a [2-0] win over Ayr United.

SLOVAKIA

Hillary Gong enjoyed a fantastic evening as he scored one and supplied two assists in Trenčín's commanding [4 - 1] triumph over Ružomberok.
