Jamilu Collins to depart SC Paderborn after five years

German side, SC Paderborn have confirmed that Jamilu Collins will leave the club at the end of the 2021/2022 season.

Collins will end his five-year association with the German Bundesliga 2 club at the end of this season.

“The season is coming to an end, which always means saying goodbye.

Thank you for your commitment in 🔵⚫️!"

The left-back was signed by Paderborn in September 2017 on a two-year contract following a successful trial at the club.

The Nigerian international found the back of the net twice in 137 appearances for the club.

His most famous goal for the club was in Paderborn’s 3-2 defeat to German heavyweights Bayern Munich in the 2019/2020 season.

Collins who's also a Croatian citizen has played for clubs in Croatia and Slovenia.

He was however linked with a move to the Turkish Super Lig last summer but it fell through.

The 27-year-old has racked up 25 appearances for the Super Eagles since making his debut in October 2018.

He was part of the squad that went to the 2019 and 2021 AFCON tournament.
