One-time Super Eagles invitee, Gabriel Osho has completed a move to French Ligue 1 side, AJ Auxerre, on a one year deal with an option for a further two years. He joins as a free agent, after the expiration of his contract at Luton Town FC.

Gabriel, 25, began his career in Reading and has played his entire career in England. He became known as a solid central defender in the Championship.

Osho was part of the Luton Town team that achieved a historic promotion to the English Premier League in the 2022-2023 season, even scoring in the play-offs semi-final.

Last season, Osho played 21 times in the Premier League and scored twice, but Luton Town were relegated despite his efforts.

Overall, Osho made 85 appearances for Luton Town.

Now, he will play in France’s top league with Auxerre, who were promoted under manager Christophe Pelissier. Osho has signed a one-year contract with an option for an additional year. He will wear the number 3 shirt at Auxerre.

On Osho’s departure, Edwards told the Hatters’ website: "I'd like to thank Gabe for what he did for this football club and wish him nothing but success."

Osho has also played for Rochdale, Yeovil Town, and Bristol Rovers in England, but this will be his first time playing abroad. This move presents a new challenge for him, and he will aim to make a strong impression in France.

The 25-year-old was once invited to join the Super Eagles for international friendlies against Ghana and Mali but was unable to attend due to injury.
