- The two Super Eagles stars could be rewarded for their contributions to their teams' fine outings in October
Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen and Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman have both been nominated for the Serie A Player of the Month of October.
After missing much of September due to an injury sustained in Napoli's Champions League clash with Liverpool at the Diego Maradona Stadium, Osimhen returned to action in October like an unstoppable train.
The former Lille man struck five goals during the month under review, hitting the net against Bologna and the winner versus AS Roma before smashing a first club-career hat-trick in the 4-0 demolition of Sassuolo.
The 23-year-old attacker is the favourite to pick up his first Serie A Player of the Month award.
However, Osimhen's compatriot and Atalanta ace, Ademola Lookman is also among the nominees for the prestigious honour.
The former RB Leipzig winger has been spectacular since joining Atalanta in August for just nine million euros.
But the 25-year-old forward took his brilliant displays a notch higher in October, scoring four goals in five appearances for La Dea.
Lookman scored the only goal of the game in a tense battle against Fiorentina, grabbed Atalanta's opening goal in the Goddess' 2-2 draw with Udinese, got the winner in the 2-1 victory over Sassuolo, and sealed the 2-0 win over Empoli with the game's second goal at the Stadio Carlo Castellani last weekend.
Osimhen and Lookman will battle three others - AC Milan's Rafael Leao, Inter Milan's Nicolo Barella, and Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic - for the Serie A award.
