Gift Orban wins player of the month and goal of the month awards at KAA Gent

  • In a stunning turn of events, 20-year old striker, Gift Orban has claimed two major awards at Belgian club, KAA Gent.

Gent recently signed the 20-year-old from Norwegian club, Stabaek Fotbal for €3.3 million, and he has already made a name for himself in the Jupiler Pro League.

Orban's debut game for Gent was a tour-de-force performance, as he scored two goals, including a stunning scissors kick. He followed that up with a goal in Gent's victory over Qarabag in the Europa Conference League and a match-winning goal in their 1-0 win over Anderlecht.

The young striker's sensational form has not gone unnoticed, and he has been awarded the Player of the Month for February as well as the Goal of the Month for February by his club. This is a significant accomplishment for the Nigerian youngster, who has quickly become a fan favourite at Gent.

Gent is set to play Basaksehir in their Europa Conference League round of 16 fixture, and Orban will look to continue his impressive run of form by adding to his goal tally.

The significance of Orban's awards cannot be understated. The Player of the Month award is presented to the best-performing player in the league for a given month, and the Goal of the Month award goes to the scorer of the most outstanding goal. Winning both awards in the same month is a remarkable feat, especially for a player who has only just arrived in a new league.
