  • The Nigeria international has extended his stay with the Foxes.
  • Ndidi has committed to a new three-year contract.

Wilfred Ndidi has officially signed a new contract with Leicester City, extending his stay at the club.

The Nigerian international has agreed to a three-year deal, with an option for an additional year, keeping him at the King Power Stadium until at least 2027.

Ndidi's previous contract ended in June, and there were concerns about his future. However, reports indicated that Leicester were optimistic about reaching an agreement with the 27-year-old midfielder.

The player turned down an offer from a club in Saudi Arabia because he wants to continue playing in Europe. This decision is important for his chances of being selected for Nigeria’s national team in upcoming tournaments, including the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup. Ndidi has earned 58 caps for Nigeria.

Ndidi joined Leicester in January 2017 from Belgian club Genk. He made his debut in a 2-1 victory over Everton in the FA Cup and quickly became a key figure for the team. Since joining, he has played 273 matches, scoring 17 goals and providing 17 assists.

During his time at Leicester, Ndidi helped the club win the FA Cup in 2021, as well as the Community Shield. He was also part of the squad that secured promotion back to the Premier League last season.

Leicester City is now preparing for the 2024-25 season, with challenging matches ahead against Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham, and Aston Villa in their opening month back in the top flight.
