- Napoli's goal king, Victor Osimhen, has inked a new deal, binding him to the Italian side until 2026.
The 24-year-old striker, who notched an impressive 26 Serie A goals in 32 appearances, played a pivotal role in securing Napoli's first league title in over three decades.
Osimhen's prolific form, which saw him net 31 times across all competitions last season, earned him the coveted title of Italian Footballers' Association Player of the Year.
Adding to his accolades, Osimhen clinched the prestigious African Footballer of the Year for 2023, capping off a remarkable individual year.
Following his standout performance in the 2022-23 season, the Super Eagles star was a subject of interest from French giants, Paris Saint Germain and Saudi Arabian club, Al Nassr.
However, Osimhen decided to remain in Naples and has contributed seven goals and two assists to Napoli's cause this term.
The contract extension comes as Osimhen's previous contract, set to expire in 2025, gave way to negotiations for a lengthier commitment.
Napoli formally announced the contract renewal via social media, sharing a post captioned "together until 2026," accompanied by a snapshot of Osimhen alongside club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
