GK - ADEBAYO ADELEYE - HAPOEL JERUSALEM
Adeleye had a good evening in goal for Hapoel Jerusalem. The 22-year old made two saves and kept a clean sheet as his side secured a 3-0 home win.
LB - CALVIN BASSEY - AFC AJAX
Bassey continues to impress for his new side, contributing an assist from defence while keeping a clean sheet in their 4-0 victory over SC Cambuur.
CB - IGOH OGBU - LILLESTROM SK
Ogbu was one of the better performers for Lillestrom over the weekend. He made 4 tackles, 3 interceptions and 3 clearances in his side’s 3-1 defeat. His efforts however didn’t go unnoticed.
RCB - AYO OBILEYE - LIVINGSTON FC
Super Eagles hopeful, Ayo Obileye had another good outing in the heart of Livingston’s defence. He made 9 ball recoveries and 4 clearances, keeping a clean sheet and helping his side to a 1-0 victory over Hearts.
RB - CHIDOZIE AWAZIEM - HNK HAJDUK SPLIT
The Super Eagles defender made 2 tackles and completed the most passes in the match, as Hajduk Split cruised to a 5-1 home win.
CM - KELECHI NWAKALI - SD PONFERRADINA
Nwakali continues to impress in midfield for his new side. The 24-year old created 3 chances in the game as they fell to a 1-3 league defeat.
CM - OBINNA NWOBODO - FC CINCINNATI
A rock in midfield, Nwobodo made 4 tackles, 1 interception and 11 ball recoveries as FC Cincinnati battled to a 2-0 victory over Charlotte FC.
LF - IBRAHIM OLAWOYIN - ANKARA KECIORENGUCU
Ibrahim “Brymzy” Olawoyin has made a fast start to the 2022/2023 season in Turkey. The 24-year old scored his 2nd goal of the season and provided an assist, taking his tally to 6 goal contributions in only 4 appearances.
ST - JOSH MAJA - GIRONDINS DE BORDEAUX - STAR OF THE WEEK
Maja, fresh off a failed deadline-day move to England didn’t miss a beat for Bordeaux. He scored a fine hattrick to lead his side to a 1-3 victory over Paris FC. His performance earns him our Nigerian Star of the Week Honours.
ST - MOSES EBIYE - AALESUNDS FK
The 25-year old striker had a fine evening in front of goal, scoring a brace and leading his side to a hard-fought 1-2 away victory over Stromsgodset.
RF - OLAKUNLE OLUSEGUN- FC KRASNODAR
Olusegun is making his mark in Russia this season, and his MOTM performance over the weekend was nothing short of impressive. The 20-year old scored a well-taken goal and also provided an assist in Krasnodar’s 2-1 victory over FC Sochi.
