  • Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen been left out Napoli's match day squad for the club's preseason game against Girona.
  • The Reigning African footballer of the year has a release clause of €130 million and has been recently linked to PSG, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Premier League giants, Arsenal are gearing up to make a significant move for Napoli's prolific striker, Victor Osimhen, with reports suggesting they are willing to meet the Italian club's €100m (approximately ₦180 billion) valuation as per a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes

The Nigerian international who was the club's to scorer in their scudetto winning season, has been attracting attention from top European clubs in recent times, including Paris Saint-Germain.

The 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup winner's departure from Napoli seems imminent, with new manager Antonio Conte eyeing a reunion with Romelu Lukaku, who is surplus to requirements at Chelsea. This development could hasten Osimhen's exit, with Arsenal and PSG emerging as top contenders for his signature.

Arsenal's interest in Osimhen stems from their need for a potent striker, with current options Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz not fully convincing in the role. The Gunners have already made notable signings this summer, including Riccardo Calafiori and potentially Mikel Merino, but Osimhen's addition would be a significant coup.

PSG, meanwhile, is seeking a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid earlier in the window. The French giants are also close to signing Benfica midfielder Joao Neves, who had been linked with Arsenal.

The 25-year-old already gave the green light to the French Champions who were recently advancing in talks. However, the deal is currently on standby, as PSG would need to offload either Gonçalo Ramos or Randall Kolo-Muani to create space for the reigning African POTY. The Parisians are also unwilling to include Kang-in Lee as part of the deal or trigger the striker's release clause.

The Ultimate Strikers Academy product was seemingly left out of Napoli's match day squad to face Girona in preseason, as both parties agreed to part ways this summer.
