- The Confederation of African Football has compiled and announced the best eleven of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
- Champions Cote d'Ivoire and runners-up Nigeria have three representatives each, while semifinalists South Africa and Congo DR have two players each on the team.
South Africa's Ronwen Williams, who was named the Best Goalkeeper at the AFCON, beat Nigeria's Stanley Nwabali to the shot-stopper's spot.
William Troost-Ekong, who won the tournament's Best Player award, is named the right centre-back alongside Congo's Chancel Mbemba.
Ola Aina is the AFCON's best right full-back, and on the opposite flank is Cote d'Ivoire's left-back Ghislain Konan.
The trio of South Africa's Teboho Mokoena, Cote d'Ivoire's Jean Micheal Seri, and Franck Kessie took their spots at the centre of the pack in CAF's preferred 4-3-3 set-up.
In attack, Ademola Lookman starts on the left flank after netting three goals and adding one assist in the seven games he played for Nigeria.
Yoane Wissa fits into the right flank after an excellent outing for Congo DR.
The tournament's top goalscorer, Emilio Nsue from Equatorial Guinea, leads the attack, with no room for Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen.
It would be recalled that Nigeria picked up the silver medal at the 2023 AFCON after losing [1-2] to Cote d'Ivoire in the final played on Sunday at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, Abidjan.
