- Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface has been announced as the winner of the German Bundesliga's Rookie Award of the Month award for a record fourth time.
- Boniface recorded only two assists in November, but it was enough to beat off competition from Xavi Simons and Merlin Rohl and be recognised as the best youngster in the division.
The former Union Saint-Gilloise star picked up the honour for November to add to those of August, September, and October, becoming the first player to be named the winner of the award four times.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward is also the first to win the Rookie award in four consecutive months. Since the award was created during the 2016/17 season, no player has won it more than three times.
Until Boniface's excellent haul, only France's Marcus Thuram and DR Congo's Silas Katompa had won the Rookie award on three occasions.
During their time at Borussia Dortmund, Erling Haaland and Achraf Hakimi won the award, reserved for the best young newcomer to the German top flight, two times each.
Across 20 appearances in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen, Boniface has contributed an incredible 14 goals and six assists.
Bayer Leverkusen remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga, UEFA Europa League, and the DFB Pokal since the start of the season.
Boniface will look to add to his impressive tally when Bayer Leverkusen face Stuttgart on Sunday, December 10.
