The Super Falcons of Nigeria and the United States Women National Team will face each other in a double header friendly matchup scheduled for September, 2022.

At Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas, on September 3, the US women will first trade tackles with the Super Falcons.

Both teams will square off once more at the Audi Field in Washington, D.C., three days later (on September 6).

Coach of the USWNT, Vlatko Andonovski, revealed the information about the games, saying:

“First, I’m just excited to play two matches against Nigeria. They have some very talented players who will present a lot of different problems for us to solve on both sides of the ball.

“Secondly, of course we’re looking forward to bringing the team back to one of the best soccer cities and best soccer stadiums in the United States in Kansas City, as well as getting to play our first game at Audi Field, which I’ve visited several times for NWSL games and is also a fantastic venue for our team to play in front of our home fans.”

The African champions lost to the Americans 2-0 in a friendly encounter last June at the Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas.

The USWNT have won four Women's World Cup titles and four Olympic gold medals, making them the most successful team in international women's football.

The WAFCON defending champions are presently in the hunt for a tenth championship honour at Morocco 2022.

On Thursday, the Falcons face Cameroon in the competition's quarterfinals.

However, the US have had complete dominance over Nigerians. The Super Falcons have lost all six of their previous encounters, not recording a single win.
