EJIM KAYCEE BETHEL

The Falconets of Nigeria are set to face off against tournament favourites Germany in their second group stage match at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, following a hard-fought 1-0 win against Korea Republic in their opener.

Germany, boasting an impressive record in the competition with only two losses in their previous 20 group matches, will be looking to assert their dominance against the Nigerian side, who will be seeking to build on their momentum and secure a positive result.

Head-to-Head Records

The Falconets of Nigeria have previously faced off against Germany on three occasions, and are winless against the Europeans in all. Tomorrow will mark the fourth encounter between the two sides. This will potentially be a tough nut to crack for Nigeria, given that Germany's impressive record in the competition. Germany has only lost two of their previous 20 group matches, sending a warning to their African opponent.

Venue and Kick-Off Time

The match will take place at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo in Bogota, Colombia, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. The game is scheduled to kick off at 11 PM Nigerian time.

Where to Watch

The match will be available to watch on SuperSport.

Expectations

The Falconets come into this match after a hard-fought 1-0 win against Korea Republic in their group opener. They will be looking to build on this momentum against a strong German side.

Germany, on the other hand, defeated Venezuela 5-2 in their opening match, showcasing their attacking prowess. The Falconets will need to be at their best to contain the German attack and secure a positive result.

Coach Chris Danjuma has already stated that his team is focused on getting it right against each opponent, rather than looking ahead to the bigger picture. This mindset will be crucial in their encounter against Germany.
