EaglesTracker Awards 2023: Osimhen, Orban shine on Day 1

  • The first day of the EaglesTrackerAwards 2023 has been concluded with a flurry of excitement, as four deserving winners emerged, claiming five prestigious awards.
  • Victor Osimhen, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Chuba Akpom, and Gift Orban took center stage, basking in the glory of their remarkable achievements.

Napoli's Victor Osimhen, who netted an impressive 31 goals in 39 games, unsurprisingly won the Golden Boot award. His outstanding performance throughout the 2022/2023 season solidified his status as Nigeria's most prolific goal scorer.

Next in line for recognition was Chiamaka Nnadozie, the talented goalkeeper for Paris FC. Her exceptional skills were acknowledged as she secured 13 clean sheets in 23 games, earning her the well-deserved Golden Gloves award.

Middlesbrough's Chuba Akpom stepped into the limelight by claiming the highly esteemed EaglesTracker Most Improved Player of the Season accolade.

Akpom's goal tally soared by 18 this season compared to the previous one, making him the top scorer in the Championship and the standout player. His phenomenal growth made him a natural choice for this honour.

Last but not least, Gift Orban dazzled like a constellation of stars.

The Gent sensation not only secured the Rookie of the Season award but also emerged as the Revelation of the Season. Orban's rise to prominence was extraordinary, having netted an impressive 20 goals in just five months at Gent.

Notably, Orban was the sole player to walk away with two awards on the inaugural day of the EaglesTracker Awards 2023, solidifying his place among Nigeria's finest talents.

The celebration of Nigeria's outstanding performers from the recently concluded season will continue on Day 2, June 27, 2023, as the EaglesTrackerAwards 2023 carries on with its recognition of excellence.
