Rasheedat Ajibade scores four goals

Atlético Madrid's Rasheedat Ajibade hits four goals past hapless Huelva

  • Rasheedat Ajibade was the star performer as Atlético Madrid humiliated Sporting de Huelva 5-0 in a La Liga Femenina clash on Saturday afternoon.

Ajibade scored four of Atlético's five goals to underline her excellence throughout the gameweek five encounter at the Estadio Wanda Atlético de Madrid Alcalá de Henares in Madrid.

Atlético Madrid lost their 100% winning start to the league campaign last time out, when they succumbed to a narrow 2-1 defeat at Levante.

However, a repeat of that disappointing outing was not on the cards against Huelva as Ajibade opened the scoring in the 27th minute. It was the 22-year-old's second league goal of the season.

There was no stopping Ajibade as she doubled the home side's advantage shortly after the halftime break.

Brazilian attacker Ludmila da Silva made it three-nil for Atlético after the 27-year-old expertly converted a 70th-minute penalty, and RASH made sure there was no extraordinary comeback from the beaten visitors as she netted twice late in the encounter.

Ajibade scored ten goals in 23 league appearances last term, but the Super Falcons ace now has five goals in four appearances so far this season.

The win, however, only leaves Atlético Madrid in third place on nine points behind leaders Levante (10 points, four games) and champions Barcelona (9 points, three games).
