Forward of the Season: Boniface, Lookman, Onuachu, Osimhen slug it out

- Four of Nigeria's best strikers will slug it out for the esteemed ETAwards for the Forward of the Season honour.
Following their excellent displays, Victor Boniface, Ademola Lookman, Paul Onuachu, and Victor Osimhen are the final nominees for the award.
Victor Boniface was excellent in front of goal for Bayer Leverkusen as he was the architect of 31 goals (21 goals, 10 assists) in only 34 games. The former Union SG striker scored in all competitions for Bayer as they claimed the league and cup double undefeated while reaching the final of the Europa League.
Boniface has already been rewarded with the Bundesliga's Rookie of the Year award and a selection into the league's Team of the Year.
Ademola Lookman was the reason why Bayer Leverkusen did not win the Europa League as he netted a record hat-trick to power Atalanta to their first-ever continental title.
Lookman was also Nigeria's most productive player at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he netted three goals and added an assist as the Super Eagles claimed a memorable silver medal.
Not many gave Paul Onuachu a chance to excel in the Turkish League after his disappointing spell in the Premier League with Southampton.
However, the former KRC Genk star stole the headlines in Turkey nearly every week and ended with an impressive 17 goals and four assists in 26 games.
Victor Osimhen also has a strong claim to the award after an excellent year during which he was crowned the Africa Footballer of the Year, the first Nigerian to be so honoured in 24 years.
Despite struggling with injury and being unavailable during the AFCON, Osimhen still managed to register 17 goals and four assists in 32 games for Napoli.
The winner of the Forward of the Season award will be announced on the 1st of July.
