• Some of Nigeria's most outstanding players have been nominated for the prestigious EaglesTracker Awards across different categories.

For the Forward of the Season, Ademola Lookman gets nominated after he fired Atalanta to a historic triumph in the Europa League. He will face stiff competition for the award from Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Bayer Leverkusen's Victor Boniface and Trabzonspor's Paul Onuachu.

Raphael Onyedika will fancy his chances at picking up the Midfielder of the Season award, after helping Club Brugge win the Jupiler League title. However, it will not be an easy win as he faces off with Fulham's Alex Iwobi, Hatayspor's Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Wilfred Ndidi, who played a key role in Leicester City gaining promotion to the English Premier League.

The Defender of the Season award will be contested by Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Christy Ucheibe. Ucheibe will be the favourite to go home with the prestigious honour, though, after lifting four trophies with Portuguese giants SL Benfica.

There will be fierce competition for the Goalkeeper of the Season as there are four excellent nominees. Maduka Okoye helped Udinese avoid elevation from the Serie A.

Reigning Africa Best Chiamaka Nnadozie was voted the finest goalie in France after helping Paris FC qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League. Stanley Nwabali was outstanding as the Super Eagles reached the final of the 2023 AFCON. Francis Uzoho kept six clean sheets and conceded only 13 goals in 13 appearances for Omonia Nikosia.

After his goals and assists fired Bayer Leverkusen to the Bundesliga and German Cup titles without losing a game, Victor Boniface will be one of the top contenders for the Fans' Player of the Season honour. Boniface will battle it out with Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen for the award. Others nominees are Chiamaka Nnadozie, Christy Ucheibe, and Rasheedat Ajibade.

After his display helped Nigeria secure a silver medal at the 2023 AFCON, Stanley Nwabali will be the favourite for the Goalkeeper of the Season award.

However, he faces stiff competition Super Falcons shot-stopper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, who's excellent performance helped Paris FC qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League for a second consecutive season. Other nominees for the award are Udinese goalie, Maduka Okoye and Cypriot-based Francis Uzoho.

Just last year, Jennifer Echegini was playing college football but in her first season in Europe, she excelled for Juventus and finds herself as the favourite for the Revelation of the Season award. CFR Cluj star, Philip Otele, Rizespor ace, Ibrahim Olawoyin, and Hatayspor's Fisayo Dele-Bashiru are also in the running for the award for Nigeria's breakout star.

Lookman, Boniface, and Onuachu are the nominees for the Men’s MVP of the Season while Ucheibe, Rasheedat Ajibade, and Nnadozie are the top contenders for the Women’s MVP of the Season.
