- Romanian giants CFR Cluj have made an exciting acquisition by signing striker Philip Otele, according to an announcement on the club's official website.
The eight-time Romanian champions successfully convinced Otele to commit to a two-year contract, which includes an option for an additional twelve months.
The transfer will be finalized on July 1, 2023, once Otele's contract with UTA Arad expires.
The 24-year-old forward had spent the past eighteen months of his career at UTA Arad, where he made 58 appearances across various competitions, scoring eleven goals and providing three assists.
Before his move to Romania in January 2022, Otele showcased his skills at Lithuanian club Kauno Zalgiris, where he found the back of the net thirteen times in seventy matches. Prior to that, he had played for Teesside University and non-league English club Wolviston FC.
CFR Cluj's latest signing comes as the team prepares for the upcoming UEFA Europa Conference League. They secured a spot in the competition's second qualifying round by finishing third in the Romanian top-flight last season.
