Flying Eagles defender Solomon Agbalaka joins PFC Sochi on loan

- With a statement on their official website, Russian club PFC Sochi have welcomed defender Solomon Agbalaka, who joins the team on loan from Broad City club.
- The 19-year-old footballer is set to wear the number fifteen jersey during his time with PFC Sochi.
Agbalaka, born on November 9, 2003, in Nigeria, brings his versatility to the Russian side, where he will look to help the team at both centre-back and left-back positions.
Agbalaka caught the eye with his performance during the African Cup of Nations U-20, held in February of this year.
The youngster scored the crucial winner for the Flying Eagles in a [1-0] win over Egypt in the group stage and also provided an assist against Mozambique.
Although the Nigerian boys were defeated by the Gambia in the semi-finals, they clinched third place by defeating Tunisia, earning their spot in the U-20 World Championship in Argentina.
Agbalaka's outstanding skills were acknowledged as he secured a spot in the AFCON U20 team of the tournament as the best left-back.
Agbalaka's journey continued in the junior world championship, where he consistently featured in the starting lineup.
Nigeria's remarkable performance led them to the quarterfinals, triumphing over teams like Italy and Argentina. Overall, Agbalaka boasts 12 caps for Nigeria's U-20 team.
Adding Solomon Agbalaka to PFC Sochi's roster is expected to bring a new dimension to the team's defence.
