Super Falcons forward, Rasheedat Ajibade has won the Golden Boot Award of the 12th TotalEnergies Women's Africa Cup of Nations competition, held in Morocco.

The Atletico de Madrid Feminino star grabbed the award after emerging top scorer of the tournament. Rash scored 3 goals in Nigeria's disappointing WAFCON outing where they finished fourth.

The 22-year-old scored her first goal in Nigeria's 2-1 loss to eventual champions, Bayana Bayana. She went on to score Nigeria's opener against Burundi as the Super Falcons thumped the debutants 4-0.

Her third goal of the tournament was a pivotal one. She scored an header that gave Randy Waldrum's girls a one nill victory over the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in the quarter final.

The goal also secured Nigeria's place at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand next summer.

Asides scoring goals for Nigeria, Ajibade also turned provider on two occasions.

Rash didn't win the award alone though, she was joint top scorer with Morocco's Ghizlane Chebbak and South Africa's Hildah Magaia.

She now joins the likes of Nkiru Okosieme, Mercy Akide, Perpetua Nkwocha, Desire Oparanozie and Asisat Oshoala on the long list of Nigerians to have won the award.
