- With a statement on the official website, Getafe CF have announced the signing of exciting Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche.
- Uche joins the Spanish La Liga side from AD Ceuta FC on a four-year deal that will run until June 30, 2028.
It is a massive step up for Uche, who spent last season at AD Ceuta FC in the Primera Federación, the new third tier of the Spanish league system.
The young midfielder left Nigeria for Spain two years ago and featured for lowly Moralo CP before AD Ceuta FC snapped him up last July.
The 21-year-old was initially drafted to the club's reserve team but his exceptional skills saw him quickly promoted to the first team under head coach José Juan Romero.
Uche impressed for AD Ceuta FC and was one of the club's best players, notching two goals in 34 league appearances.
Gefate reportedly had an agreement in place with AD Cueta to sign Uche since February for €500,000 but only confirmed the deal on Thursday.
Uche has been an under-23 international with the Nigerian national team, with which he has participated in continental tournaments such as the under-23 Africa Cup.
The youngster is poised to become the third Nigerian to wear the colours of Getafe following in the footsteps of Ikechukwu Uche and Peter Oghenekaro Etebo.
