- The Nigerian national team fell to a tough 2-0 defeat to their Guinean counterpart at the Bani Yas Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
- Aguibou Camara and Facinet Conte scored the goals for Guinea, while Moses Simon missed a penalty for Nigeria.
On Sunday, the Super Eagles walloped Al Gharbia FC, a local team based in Dubai, 12-0 in a training match in Abu Dhabi, with Ademola Lookman netting four goals and Victor Osimhen scoring twice.
Both players were, however, left on the bench against Guinea as head coach Jose Peseiro started with a front three of Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, and Umar Sadiq.
Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili was also preferred between the sticks as the Chippa United shot-stopper picked up his first cap for Nigeria.
While Nigeria were the more enterprising of the two sides in the opening stages, Guinea took the lead against the run of play courtesy of Aguibou Camara's strike in the 14th minute.
The Super Eagles had the chance to level the scores from the penalty spot six minutes later after Umar Sadiq was hacked down in the danger area.
However, Simon failed to convert the chance as the Nantes winger saw his effort saved by the Syli National goalie, Ibrahim Kone.
Without Victor Osimhen in attack, Nigeria looked toothless, and Guinea compounded the Super Eagles' woes when Facinet Conte doubled the Elephants' advantage just past the hour mark.
Despite Peseiro making several changes to his playing personnel, the Super Eagles could not muster a goal as Nigeria fell to their third defeat in their last four games against Guinea.
Nigeria will leave their Abu Dhabi training camp on Tuesday and head for Lagos before going to Abidjan, the capital of Cote d'Ivoire, where the Eagles will play their group matches at the AFCON.
