EaglesTracker set to honour outstanding Nigerian footballers for the 2021-2022 season

The 2021-2022 football season has come to a close, and Nigerian footballers have made headlines all around the world.
Some made history, some lived out fairytales and others improved on their previous campaigns.
The EaglesTracker Awards is an exclusive annual event that honours Nigerian footballers' outstanding achievements throughout the season under review.
Since its establishment in 2020, the MVP award has been presented to notable footballers such as Simy Nwankwo, Paul Onuachu, and Asisat Oshoala.
In addition to the Eagles Tracker Men's MVP of the Year and Women's MVP of the Year categories, we honour footballers with different categories of award.
This year's edition will see thirteen awards handed out:
- Goalkeeper of the Season - A fan-voted award given to the best goalkeeper in the 2021-2022 season
- Defender of the Season - A fan-voted award given to the best defender in the 2021-2022/2021 season
- Midfielder of the Season - A fan-voted award given to the best midfielder in the 2021-2022/2021 season
- Forward of the Season - A fan-voted award given to the best forward in the 2020/2021-2022 season
- Fans Player of the Season - A fan-voted award given to the fans’ best player in the 2020/2021-2022 season.
- Men’s MVP - Awarded to the footballer (male) who had the best individual season for their club in 2021-2022/2021
- Women’s MVP - Awarded to the footballer (female) who had the best individual season for their club in 2021-2022/2021
- Revelation of the Season - Awarded to the footballer (male or female) who had the best breakout season in 2021-2022/2021
- Rookie of the Season - Awarded to the footballer (male or female) aged U21 who had the best first full season in the first team of their club, in 2021-2022/2021
- Most Improved Player of the Season - Awarded to the footballer (male or female) who made the most improvements from their previous season in 2021-2022
- Golden Boot - Awarded to the player (male or female) who scored the most goals for their club in the 2021-2022/2021 season.
- Golden Glove - Awarded to the goalkeeper (male or female) who kept the most clean sheets for their club in the 2020/2021-2022 season.
- Team of the Season - A team of the best 11 performers throughout the 2021-2022/2021 season.
The period under review is the 2021-2022 season only (August 2021 - May 2022).
The award ceremony has always been a virtual one and this year's event will be no different.
