Dundee United Sign Meshack Ubochioma from Zalaegerszegi TE

Through a statement on their official website, Dundee United has announced the signing of Nigerian winger, Meshack Ubochioma from Hungarian outfit, Zalaegerszegi TE on a two-year deal, with an option for an additional year. The move is subject to international and SFA clearance.

The 22-year-old joins Dundee United with an impressive background, having honed his skills in Nigeria before catching the eye of Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain. He spent time on trial with PSG at just 17, training alongside stars like Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Marco Verrati.

After his Parisian adventure, Ubochioma joined Zalaegerszegi TE through a diplomatic partnership between the Hungarian and Nigerian football associations. He quickly made an impact, scoring 12 goals in 17 appearances on loan at Slovenian side NK Nafta and helping ZTE win the Magyar Kupa, their first in 104 years.

Ubochioma's impressive form earned him a starting spot at ZTE, where he scored eight goals and provided four assists in two seasons. He also excelled in the OTP Bank Liga, taking the most touches in the opposition penalty area and completing the most ball-progressing runs among players aged 23 and under.

The Nigerian winger arrives at Dundee United with almost 6,500 senior minutes under his belt, despite his youth. He expressed his excitement about joining the club, stating, "I've always wanted to make the next step in my career, and as soon as I got the call from Dundee United, I knew this was my chance."

Ubochioma set his sights on scoring and assisting as many goals as possible, contributing to the team's collective goals. He eagerly awaits his first goal at Tannadice, hoping to win over the fans.
