Super Eagle drop three spots in FIFA World Ranking

Super Eagle drop three spots in FIFA World Ranking

  • The Super Eagles have fallen in the latest world ranking update by FIFA following the conclusion of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
  • Nigeria remains among the top 5 ranked nations in Africa

The 2022 FIFA World Cup was an amazing spectacle and is already being touted by many to be the greatest ever World Cup tournament.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were unfortunately not a part of the festivities after failing to qualify following a disappointing outing against the Black Stars of Ghana in March.

The latest update of the FIFA world rankings has seen Nigeria drop three spots, down to 35th from 32nd. The Super Eagles have fallen to two friendly defeats against Costa Rica and Portugal since the last update on October 6, 2022.

Nigeria has also dropped to fifth in Africa, behind Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia and Cameroon.
