  • Super Eagles Winger Ademola Lookman was on target for Atalanta in their pre-season loss to Parma.
  • The 26-year-old was named the club's player of the past season.

Ademola Lookman's impressive pre-season form continued on Sunday evening, despite the club's 4-1 defeat to Parma in a friendly match at the Ennio Tardini stadium. The Nigeria international scored a consolation goal in the 38th minute, showcasing his skill and dedication ahead of the new season.

Parma dominated the game, with Dennis Man's sixth-minute strike setting the tone for a comprehensive win. Ange-Yoan Bonny doubled the advantage in the 29th minute, before Lookman pulled one back for Atalanta. However, second-half goals from Man and Anthony Partipilo sealed the victory for Parma.

The former Leicester City man, who resumed pre-season training with Atalanta after his international commitments with the Super Eagles, has been in fine form. He forced an own goal in the team's first pre-season game against AZ Alkmaar and has continued to impress in subsequent matches.

The 26-year-old was voted Atalanta's Player of the Season for the second consecutive year, registering 27 goal involvements in 45 matches across all competitions in the 2023-2024 season. His performances have raised expectations ahead of the new season, which begins with a UEFA Super Cup clash against Real Madrid on August 14.

Atalanta will face St. Pauli in their final pre-season friendly, providing Lookman and his teammates with an opportunity to fine-tune their skills before the competitive season begins.
