Barcelona's Asisat Oshoala slams CAF for AWCON 2020 cancellation

25-year old FC Barcelona and Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala has lashed out at the governing body of African Football, CAF, over their decision to cancel the 2020 edition of the African Women's Cup of Nations.
The decision was announced on Tuesday, with the coronavirus pandemic stated as the reasons, however, other CAF competitions were postponed and not canceled.
The four-time African Women's Player of the Year reacted via her verified Twitter account saying: "Other competitions POSTPONED but AWCON “CANCELLED” thank you once again for making us realize women’s football isn’t important to you.congratulations on dragging us back AGAIN.Adios
to all the women National teams in Africa,see y’all in 2022 #PrioritizeWomensFootball #NoExcuse"
CAF announced the formation of the Women's Champions League, to have its inaugural season in 2021.
