Southampton loan Onuachu to Trabzonspor

- Southampton have announced the departure of Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu, who will embark on a season-long loan to Turkish side Trabzonspor.
Onuachu, 29, made his move to Southampton in January for a transfer fee of £18 million from Belgian Jupiler Pro League club KRC Genk.
However, his stint with the English club did not meet expectations as he failed to find the back of the net in any of his 11 Premier League appearances during the second half of last season, which ultimately culminated in Southampton's relegation to the Championship.
Following Southampton's demotion, Onuachu did not hide his desire to leave Saint Mary's Stadium, with the Super Eagles striker linked to a few clubs in France and Belgium.
But he has now settled for Turkey, where he will team up with former Super Lig champions, Trabzonspor.
Before Onuachu's poor half-term spell at Southampton, he had enjoyed a prolific time in the first half of the 2022/23 season, amassing an impressive 16 goals from 19 games. His remarkable record extends to his four-year stay in Belgium, where he managed to net an impressive total of 85 goals in 185 games.
