In an exciting weekend of football action, Nigerian football players made their marks in various leagues and competitions around the world.

From the German Super Cup to the English Premier League, and from the Turkish Super Lig to the Liga MX Femenil, Nigerian stars showcased their skills and talent.

ALGERIA

Tosin Omoyele found the back of the net for CS Constantine as they dispatched Rwanda Police [2-0] in the CAF Confederations Cup first preliminary round.

BELGIUM

Tolu Arokodare continued his remarkable scoring form as he notched a brace for KRC Genk in their [3-4] Belgian Jupiler Pro League victory over KV Beerschot. His fourth goal in the last three games. Yira Sor also provided an assist in the game.

CZECH REPUBLIC 

David Moses was impressive as his side, MFK Karvina lost narrowly to Bohemians 1905 by a [2-1] scoreline in the Czech First League. He made three tackles, won eight duels and creating one goalscoring chance for his side.

Igoh Ogbu also featured and put in a good shift for the entirety of Slavia Praha's [2-1] win over Teplice. 

ENGLAND

Ola Aina was substituted with a knock in the 54th minute, and Taiwo Awoniyi came off the bench to feature for Nottingham Forest in their English Premier League season-opener against Bournemouth, which ended in a [1-1] draw. 

Joe Aribo put in an impressive display, creating two goalscoring chances in his 70 minutes of action during Southampton's hard-fought [1-0] Premier League defeat away at Newcastle.

In the EFL Championship, Josh Maja was substituted off in the 85th minute as he failed to replicate his hattrick heroics from his previous game, while Semi Ajayi played the entire duration in West Bromwich Albion's goalless draw against Leeds United.

FRANCE

George Ilenikhena made his French Ligue 1 debut for AS Monaco, coming on from the bench in the 81st minute of action, as his team secured a [1-0] victory over AS St Etienne.

GERMANY

Victor Boniface opened his goalscoring account for the season as ten-man Bayer Leverkusen lifted the German Super Cup after winning [4-3] on penalties against VFB Stuttgart, following a thrilling [2-2] draw. Nathan Tella also featured for 73 minutes.

HUNGARY

Tosin Kehinde stole three points right at the death for Hungarian First Division side Ferencvarosi, as they claimed a narrow [1-0] win against Ùjpest in added time.

ITALY

Samuel Chukwueze featured for 60 minutes as AC Milan's Italian Serie A season opener, ended in a [2-2] draw against Torino. It wasn't exactly his best of displays, and he was substituted off at the hour mark.

MEXICO

Vivian Ikechukwu scored her first goal for Cruz Azul Femenil, helping her side towards a [4-1] victory over Santos Laguna in the Liga MX Femenil.

PORTUGAL 

Christy Ucheibe was utilized off the bench for SL Benfica Feminino as they progressed to the final of the Portuguese Women's Super Cup, beating Damaiense on penalties after a [1-1] draw. 

ROMANIA

Imoh Ezekiel's efforts couldn't prevent UTA Arad from falling to a [1-0] defeat against FC Botosani, in the Romanian Superliga.

SCOTLAND

Cyriel Dessers continued to silence his doubters as he scored one goal and provided an assist for another, after coming off the bench in Rangers FC's [2-0] Scottish League Cup second round win against St Johnstone. 

SLOVAKIA 

Ridwan Sanusi was on target for Podbrezova as his side ran riot against Skalica in a [7-1] thrashing, in the Slovak Super Liga. He also provided an assist during the encounter.

Emma Uchegbu was on target, while Chinonso Emeka and Jude Sunday also featured, as AS Trencin were held to a [2-2] draw by Banska Bystrica in the Slovak Nike Liga.

TURKEY

Bright Osayi-Samuel featured for 74 minutes as Fenerbahce were held to a [2-2] draw by Goztepe, in the Turkish Super Lig. Anthony Dennis played all 90 mins for Gotzepe, creating two goalscoring chances for his side.
