- The 30-year-old defender played a key role in PAOK's Greek Super League title win and Nigeria's AFCON 2023 final appearance.
Super Eagles Captain, William Troost-Ekong is set to make a switch to the middle-east to join newly promoted Roshn Saudi league side, Al-Kholood Club. According to Italian journalist and transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano, an agreement has been struck for the transfer fee between his current club PAOK and the SPL newcomers.
In a tweet on his official X account, The 31-year-old journalist duly noted that an agreement on personal terms is also in place as the Dutch-born center-back follows in the footsteps of a host of other players, who left Europe for huge middle-eastern cash offers.
The former Watford man has been linked with several clubs outside Saudi Arabia in the Asian continent, including Shabab Al Ahli in the UAE Pro League. Recently, he continuously dismissed talks of him leaving the Greek outfit. The defender who has represented Nigeria at three Africa Cup of Nations and a World cup, was formerly on the books of Dutch sides Groningen and Dordrecht, Belgian club KAA Gent, Norwegian outfit Hauesgund, Turkish side Buraspor, alongside then English Premier League side Watford and Italian Serie A sides Udinese and Salernitana.
