Injury update: Everton's Alex Iwobi out for three weeks

- Premier League campaigners, Everton have confirmed that the injury sustained by Super Eagles playmaker, Alex Iwobi on Saturday evening is not as worse as initially feared.
The Nigeria international suffered the injury in the second half of Everton's [3-1] Emirates FA Cup defeat against Manchester United on Friday.
Iwobi was brought down by Tyrell Malacia after the Manchester United fullback's rash tackle caught the Everton ace in the ankle.
The former Arsenal man was taken off on a stretcher and it was initially feared that he may have suffered a tear in his ligament. However, in a statement on their official website, Everton have revealed that Iwobi only faces three weeks on the sidelines.
The 26-year-old is not expected to require surgery as scans revealed that his ankle is not broken and conservative management can help him heal what has been diagnosed to be a lateral ligament injury.
Iwobi is not expected to make a competitive appearance for Everton until early February, which will rule him out of the Toffees' next two Premier League fixtures.
Everton will face Southampton on January 14 and West Ham United seven days later without their Nigerian import. However, Iwobi could be available for Everton when the Blues host his former employers, Arsenal at Goodison Park on February 4.
The Super Eagles star should be fully fit and available for Nigeria when the 3-time African champions begin preparations for their AFCON 2023 qualifying double-header with Guinea-Bissau in March.
