  • Super Falcons forward, Rasheedat Ajibade has been named the winner of the Player of the Month award for February at her club, Atletico de Madrid Femenino.
  • Ajibade has been a standout performer for Atletico de Madrid Femenino since joining the Spanish La Liga Femenino side in 2021

The former FC Robo star, often deployed as an attacking midfielder or winger, has notched 27 goals in all competitions for Atleti Femenino in three years.

This season, Ajibade has contributed four goals and three assists in 18 games to help propel the three-time league winners to the fifth position in the La Liga F standings.

Despite Atletico struggling for form in February, Ajibade's brilliance still shone through as she provided three assists for the five goals Atletico Madrid scored during the month.

The club only won one match - a 2-1 victory over bitter rivals, Real Madrid, in the Copa de la Reina with Ajibade assisting both goals - and three draws before losing to perennial champions, Barcelona.

Acknowledging her outstanding contributions, Atletico de Madrid F officially declared Ajibade as the Player of the Month for February.

Atletico will hope Ajibade continues to deliver as her contribution could be crucial to the club's success this campaign.

Only striker Sheila Guijarro (12 goals) and Colombian star Leicy María Santos (5) have more league goals for Atletico than Ajibade (4).

Atletico Madrid face a challenging task in the Laliga Femeni standings, currently trailing 20 points behind league leaders Barcelona Femeni.

Moreover, the Red-and-Whites find themselves seven points adrift from the coveted third-place spot held by Levante, a position that guarantees entry into the Champions League qualifiers.
